Going back and listening to the recording of the lecture, it's not exactly clear if he is in charge of this research, or if others at Stanford are merely "working with" him. Patrick W. I can't find any record of the word proteinomics even exisiting on Google. Thanks for the heads up. Will edit. Patrick W. In 8-9 months, he and his team should know whether genetics has anything to do with ME/CFS. And if it does, are there subsets? Until then, we can be satisfied knowing that one of the top names in the field of genetics is working on ME/CFS.

Here is a summary of Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker's work on HLA DR as it relates to mold illness.

http://www.drdaveou.com/blog/?p=406

Do you know who the Stanford scientist is?

Thanks.Lisa Petrisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11054933061703264838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8695992297755175196.post-6424446252029490312013-06-21T09:25:58.940-07:002013-06-21T09:25:58.940-07:00Awesome summary Patrick! I suspect they are going to be central to finding a cure and I really think there will be some big discoveries over the next few years so we won't have to wait 50. Hopefully that's not just my inner optimistic talking. Do you know if proteinomics is another name for proteomics?
Ramblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04571397449936148937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8695992297755175196.post-44351169213941935792013-06-19T21:44:06.309-07:002013-06-19T21:44:06.309-07:00Hey David, that's a good point. Now that you ...Hey David, that's a good point. Now that you mention it, 100,000s of thousands of spinal fluid samples almost sounds impossible. But I went back and listened to the recording (she allowed recording) and she said "over 100,000." I'm going to edit to reflect that slight difference in wording, but still I gotta go with "over 100,000".

Good to hear from you. Hope you are well. Patrick W. I have been impressed with the interviews/notes I've read from Linda Tannenbaum thus far, especially her speech at the InvestInME conference this year.

One thing to note: I very much doubt that Dr. Peterson has hundreds of thousands of spinal fluid samples. I just don't see any way that he could conceivably gathered that many from patients, since it requires a spinal tap and all.

Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10778342601996392913noreply@blogger.com
